An introduction and invitation to an intentional new beginning ...
There’s a lot of hype this time of year about doing things differently and making big changes.
I have come to understand healing and transformation as a much more subtle and quiet creature than the big bang of resolutions - but/and - I am also a big believer in new beginnings and fresh starts.
I have needed the hope of every single do-over I have been offered in order to get to where I am today.
In the spirit of honoring the much-needed grace of beginning again, I have created a New Year offering that is aligned with what is alive in me and the way I exist in this world.
There are two key concepts that exist at the center of my healing and commitment to aliveness.
1. Somatics
2. Sobriety
In the beginning, these felt like two separate arenas within my personal work - but over time I began to see that something rich/pivotal/vitally important lives at the point of their intersection.
I have uncovered a framework to help navigate this potent space, which I have come to call Somatic Sobriety™.
It is no exaggeration when I say that the core concepts of Somatic Sobriety are what saved my life.
If you are curious about creating new patterns with behaviors that may be holding you back from the life that keeps beckoning you toward “more”, I invite you to join me for my inaugural New Year's Day Somatic Sobriety kickoff party.
The gathering is a pay-what-you-can kind of deal (with a suggested price of $20.23).
We will be:
Exploring key pillars of Somatic Sobriety and learning tools you can apply to your personal healing journey.
Setting intentions around what we want to help create for ourselves in this new year, specifically in regards to building new patterns that invite your fullest expression and authenticity to the forefront of your life.
And yes, you guessed it … there will be kitchen dancing.
Most of all, we will be celebrating ourselves EXACTLY as we are.
You may wonder, is this kickoff party for me if I’m not currently contemplating stopping drinking or using another substance:
In short. Yes!
As a society, we tend to associate the word sobriety with substance use.
But anyone who is on a journey of uncovering, recovering, or discovering their authentic expression free from addictive patterns and cycles knows that sobriety is not limited to drugs and alcohol.
Somatic Sobriety is so much more.
It is a way of living that invites us to look deeper at our patterns and behaviors— with substances, compulsive spending, love addiction, or codependency. It's about learning a new way of showing up for our partners, our families, our career and creative callings, and most of all, ourselves.
Somatic Sobriety invites us to explore the meaning of true freedom and calls us into a powerful journey of reclamation.
Somatic Sobriety is a transformative methodology that includes philosophy, practices, and practical tools designed for humans who are ready to uncover, discover, and recover from the specific behaviors or programming in their lives that are preventing them from accessing their full potential, power, capacity, and authenticity.
If reading this feels a little bit scary and a little bit like “fuck yes, this is for me”, I really hope I get to see you there on the 11th.
Remember, You don’t have to suffer alone.
None of us do.
Every single part of you is welcome.
